The programme of the 2009 Benahavis feria
Although the town hall should translate these things, I
have done it for you !!! The red ones are for kids.
Thursday 13th of August
21:00
:
Inauguration and illumination of the feria by the local authorities,
accompanied by a musical band.
23:00 : Start of the dancing at the
Plaza de España, by the bands "Pasarela" y "Yumara".
24:00 : "Pregón" of the Feria by Rafa
Vega. Afterwards, coronation of the Queens and
Dames of the Feria of Benahavís
2009. All will be presented by the director of Punto Radio de Benahavís,
Miguel Morito.
Friday 14th of August
13:00 :
Traditional kids games
in the Avenida de Andalucia.
14:00 :
Paella and beer for everybody, Avenida de
Andalucía.
17:30 : Teatime
for kids in the
Avenida de Andalucía,
with animation by "MAGIC FIESTA", within the
theme of "The Enchanted Forrest".
23:00 : Dancing at the Plaza de España,
by the
bands "Yumara" y "Pasarela"
Saturday 15th of August
13:00 :
Traditional kids games
in the Avenida de Andalucia.
16:00 :
Bike rally
in the Avenida de Andalucia.
16:00 : Clay shooting next to the local school.
18:00 : Concert by "Cachivache" (la
banda), at the Plaza de España.
20:30 : Holy Mass in the local church followed by
the procession in honour of the local saint,
Nuestra Señora del Rosario, accompanied by the musical band of Pujerra.
23:00 : Dancing at the Plaza de España, by the
bands "Yumara" y "Pasarela"
Sunday 16th of August
10:30 :
XXXII Trial
de Benahavís.
14:00 : Lunch for the grandparents of Benahavis in
the sports pavilion and election of the "grandparents of the year".
16:00 :
The world of Benaventura,
with various water attractions at the municipal swimming pool.
17:00 : Antonio Cortés ( a "copla" singer ) in the
sports pavilion. Tickets can be obtained for free at the town hall
on days previous to the event.
19:30 :
Foam Party and the
Spanish version of tea and biscuits.
23:00 : Dancing at the Plaza de España, by the
bands "Yumara" y "Pasarela".
02:30 : "Gran Traca Final" ( long fire
cracker ) which announces the end of the feria, although it goes on
until 6 or 7AM.
