In this latest addition to the Benahavis gastronomy, chef-owner Cyrille Troesch has travelled through most of the worlds countries to widen his culinary knowledge, which results in French cuisine with accents from all over the globe.

There is a display section with a selection of truffles and truffle based products, chutneys and marmalades (amongst them a olive oil marmalade!), and a range of handpicked wines from smaller vineyards you won’t find anywhere else.

Live Music on Saturdays from 20.00. Reservation recommended!

The restaurant is situated on the street coming down from the tobacco shop and has a spacious interior with a chimney for winter evenings and a beautiful terrace overlooking the narrow Calle Malaga.

Outstanding on all levels! The tables are spread out well, the decor warm and welcoming with, I am guessing, artwork from residents. You are greeted and served by Sonny, a true treasure of a soul! The food was fresh and flavorful; we started with the bruschetta and then, for the main courses, the sea bass and the octopus, accompanied by French beans. The bread was also fresh and delicious, with a variety. The wine selection was excellent, and it was from small wineries, so it was not your usual. You must go and experience La Escalera. Thanks for the bottle, it was delicious.
